SUMMER SPECIAL #3 : STUDIO GHIBLI LAYOUT DESIGNS

(My long-lost friends, Lavinia and Stacey, and I.)

(Cute stickers that visiters draw.)

(Me on the tummy of Totoro. hehe)

(I thought this poster was really funny and cute.)

(Chihiro and no-face from Spirited Away.)

I visited the Ghibli Studio layout designs exhibition in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum with my friends about two weeks ago and here are some photos we took. Too bad that photos are not allowed in the exhibition but there were plenty of photo-spots for us fans. It was amazing to see the original drafts of some of  my childhood favorites like Totoro, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. Totally fascinated by the productions of Studio Ghibli, I also saw the effort they put into each animation. From sketching, coloring to actual filming, it's a very long process and they had been providing us with fabulous entertainment since their first film, Castle in the Sky, in 1986. It's a pity that Studio Ghibli has announced that it was temporarily halting production following the retirement of  Hayao Miyazaki.

The exhibition will last until 31st August. Don't miss the chance and definitely go check it out if you love their films!

SUMMER SPECIAL #2 : ACGHK

As the most popular summer carnival in Hong Kong, ACGHK is packed with the best selection of animation, comics, games, toys, limited edition collectibles and a variety of hit-hot performance and  activities to keep spirit high.

(The lighting of the photo is too bad so I turned it into b&w.)

(Sakura Momoko a.k.a my childhood memories.)

(Doraemon!!)

(Actually Iron Patriot is my favorite because of the color combo. lol)

(Some cosplayers I captured that day.)

I guess this post is quite unexpected for you guys because I am not particularly into animation and games but I recently accompanied my brother to the ACGHK, an animation and comics expo held every summer in the HKCEC. My brother and I didn't find this year's fair very interesting as the portion of  animation had been reduced. However, we did have some fun in the event. Above are some photos that I took and I hope you enjoy. :)   xx

SUMMER SPECIAL #1 : R&B RESEARCH BAKERY

(Double cheese burger)

(Fried chicken Benedict)

(Part of my ootd)

(YEAH for Roshe runs)

We went to R&B Research Bakery in Tsim Sha Tsui for lunch last week on my boyfriend's birthday. When I first saw people's instagram pictures of it with nice green scenery from the big windows, I thought it would locate in a rather remote location but surprisingly, it locates on the third floor of a building on the busy Nathan Road. After a not-so-magical elevator ride, we arrived at a restaurant filled with natural lights and woody furniture. The environment was so relaxing that it was a totally different world from downstairs.

What I enjoyed the most is the double cheese burger there. The quite juicy beef combined with the melted cheese just create the perfect burger! (Sorry that I'm not good at describing food but hey, I'm good at eating them!) I guess the fries are not everyone's cup of tea as they are rather dry and crunchy. The (homemade?) tomato sauce is just marvelous and I enjoyed it a lot.

The fried chicken Benedict is alright but not my favorite. I have to warn you that it's a little spicy and unexpectedly, instead of traditional English muffins, they used something like scone as the base(?) of the Benedict. The chicken might be a little bit too dry for me but it was acceptable.

We also went to Kisses Cupcakes in the K11 Art Mall after shopping as it was birthday and I was craving for desserts. The red velvet one (the one in the photo) is really good with the sour cream frosting. I also tried the green tea one but it tasted a bit minty which is kind of weird but it was okay.

Hope you all enjoy this post with lots of food (which I obviously love).   xx
